See Me in Sports Illustrated?

Whooooaaaa . . . I'm in the Sports Illustrated magazine Swimsuit edition!!!!!!

Oh wait. Correction. I mean, my book is in Sports Illustrated Kids magazine!!!!!

STANFORD WONG FLUNKS BIG-TIME is listed as one of the "13 cool books worth checking out this summer" in Sports Illustrated Kids Hot Reads Summer Reading Guide Spectacular. (Trying saying that five times quickly.)

Here's Peepy with the mag and some of the library books we checked out recently . . .

The Columbus Metropolitan Main Library is a whole ton of marvelous wonderfulness. Plus they sell COFFEE!!! I've already libraried twice since I've arrived . . .

Speaking of Columbus libraries, I'll be doing author visits at both branches of the Worthington Library on Thursday. This is especially thrilling because it has been named LIBRARY OF THE YEAR!

What else does a Thurber Children's Writer-in-Residence do? Well, besides spending a good deal of my time not believing that I'm actually here, I've been writing and reading and writing and writing and reading. However, Peepy gets restless, so we take breaks. Like when we attended a Thurber House Literary Picnic. Here's the view from my window as people started to arrive . . .

And here are the talented actors reading from "The Unicorn in the Garden" . . .

(Above: See that lady in distress? Now, that's acting!)

Look what Peepy and I found in the garden. Not the unicorn, but these friendly dogs . . .

Woof.
