God damn it. I just googled 'overcoming bike fear' to see if I could find any tips for not freaking out on my new bike while riding on the street (because I'm really afraid of traffic). Also just generally keep in mind that legally you're equivalent with a car. And that cyclists get hit less when they mainly ride in the center of a lane.

the guy at back ally bikes had some good advice for me, you should give him a ring.
He said that most accidents don't happen from cars coming behind you, but from the side. So don't focus too much on being scared of cars behind you, and watch out for intersections and driveways etc. Assume you are invisible too.
