last night we cleaned out my grandfather's house.  i now have pink post-it notes labeling various pieces of furniture as mine; a  hutch, 3 wood end tables, a sofa, and an old desk.  i have 4 boxes of old tupperware, pots, a dutch oven, a ginormous skillet, various brown plates and mugs and bowls, a cheese grater.  i'm not exactly thrilled about

I can understand those feelings, but you're right--when you have all these things settled into your own place, they will slowly become yours. Eventually they will belong right where they are.
