Today we took a drive up in the mountains to stake out a spot for when we go camping in a couple weeks. On the way, we drove by Park City, and you can see the ski jumps from the 2002 Olympics and I started getting wistful, wishing that there were Olympics this year. And then when we got home, I found out that the Special Olympics are starting

Did you attend any of the events back during the 2002 Olympics? I was living in Atlanta during the 1996 Summer Olympics, and went to a lot of stuff, and while it was a very unique and special time, I don't think I'd ever want to experience it again. LOL

No, I didn't go, I'm such a big wuss about crowds. I really should have tried, though. The skating oval is only about 2-3 miles from my house.

The Atlanta games was when there were all the security issues, right? That may have been a little scary!

Oh, I hear you about the crowds. And the park bombing and the aftermath wasn't scary so much as sad, disappointing, and frustrating. It gave the international media one more reason to tear down the city, which they seem to like to do whenever and wherever there's an Olympics.
