I don't think I've ever seen that movie. I know what you mean though, about losing the magic. Sometimes that has happened to me, but sometimes it's just as good as I remember!
I was never a big Paul Newman fan but he looks really good in that second to last pic!

I've been a Paul Newman fan because of this film. I can't say that the others I've seen have made an impression as strong as Cool Hand Luke, and that's including Cat On A Hot Tin Roof which was also very good, and, I guess, more popular. I'd recommend it, but I'm afraid this movie needs a certain mood, maybe a certain age... I don't know. I'm not sure if I loved it myself if I saw it now.

I was looking at a list of movies and I noticed a few of his that I really liked. I saw Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, but it was a long time ago. I should watch it again!

Paul Newman was great in Cat on the etc. Too bad the movie was spiled by Elisabeth Taylor who was actully perfect in her role and damn annoying at the same time. Also, the gay subtext is interesting in the play...
