I just watched the Oprah special, "Auschwitz: Death Camp" with ellie weisel.

It was, I am sure a surprise to no one, indescribable.  I know sometimes with tragic events, we walk this thin line between the beliefs of wanting to stop seeing the imagery or hearing the stories because it is thought to be excessive, and always needing to be reminded. I ( Read more... )

omg- yeah, it's not the best insight into the Holocaust ever but my god- the man is so talented at communicating that i think he makes you understand on one of the closest relatable levels you can understand without being even experiencing anything CLOSE to what atrocities happened.

Yes, if you somehow had not known a lot about the Holocaust, you might not get all that he was expressing.... however, he is amazing with his words... how carefully he chose them & how he wasn't afraid to over simplify, he simply put it as it was.

Between Inconvenient Truth & this, I'm not sure I'll sleep at all tonight *sigh*
