International Year of Astronomy

Thought I'd post some pictures from APOD, since 2009 is The International Year of Astronomy and it's nice to keep the buzz going. I'd like to set myself a target of doing something once a month to keep the wonder fresh. We'll see. These are just a selection of some that I like or are of historical significance. I have APOD as an RSS feed & love the images. (They come in very handy for graphics too - making lovely 'filters'!)

Is your feed into your Friends page or another site? I had a google to find if I could do it, but haven't come up with anything yet for LJ.

It doesn't appear on my flist. There's a button on the toolbar of my browser (Firefox) & I can clcik on that for a drop down menu of the latest posts & then click to open them. I think I signed up by clicking on the 'RSS' link at the bottom of the APOD site (it was so long ago I can't remember! Sorry.)

Done! It's on my Google home page now and that's on my toolbar.

I looked for it before, but silly me, I looked on the page where all the pics are hotlinked, rather the daily picture page.
