I've never done this before.

Never bought a plane ticket the same day that I'd flown the flight, never prayed for the whole flight for someone not to die so that we'd at least get there to say our good-byes ( Read more... )

Pleasure sweets I'm sorry that it comes at such a sad time but I'm happy you all got to be there for him and that you're together as a family, it makes all the difference.

I'm so sorry you have to go though all this. But at least you did get the chance to see him and say your good-byes. As awful as it sounds, I hope he goes peacefully.

It's actually a beautiful wish, now. *laughs softly* It might sound awful to others, but in this situation, it really is a blessing for him to go in real peace instead of having to struggle.

So thank you. And, yeah, we did get out chance, and he did really gain a lot out of it as did we. *hugs*

FWIW, as difficult and wrenching as I know all this must be, the way the events are unfolding will make the healing in the aftermath go so much more smoothly and naturally. I have lost most of my loved ones either suddenly and unexpectedly, or in some protracted manner where whatever the circumstances were, they prevented me from being able to see the person near the end and tell them how much they meant to me. It was only with my brother that we were able to gather as you are doing now, and I can tell you, it made the recovery from his loss much less difficult than the others.

Your family sounds amazing, and I'm so glad you are all there to support and love one another, and I'm sure it's a tremendous comfort to George. I wish his soul a peaceful passage, and comfort to you and all of his loved ones. *hugs*

*hugs you solidly*

I appreciate you sharing your experience, immensely. I think you're right, this is feeling... well... healing in a lot of ways, and the closure really does matter.

They are pretty amazing, and thank you so much for the wishes.

*hugs solidly*

I'm glad you were able to make it there, both for George and for yourselves. You're still in my thoughts and prayers.
