Star Trek and Lemon Sour Cherry Cake

It's nearly the end of Jet's school year and things are going nuts. Just lots of things to take care of before summer hits, and hopefully the pool will open and we can cool off. It's been in the 80's the last couple of days, should be back in the 60's again tomorrow. Colorado weather ( Read more... )

Your garden sounds sooo fabulous. I'd love to be able to pick salads! But I don't have the energy to even begin to think of how I'd manage that (I'd have to container garden it in the back where we get a bit more sun and don't let the dogs out, for one.)

It's really amazing this year. I actually paid it some attention in the spring this time. *laughs* Last year, it was such a waste, as I forgot just how good handwatering can be in the early part of the season so I get a good feel for how the plants are doing...

But, yeah, it's all raised beds or containers. My summer lettuce is all in containers because it gets too hot in the beds; but now the hot and sweet peppers are all going into the really sunny beds where the greens do just fine when it's still freezing elsewhere in the garden.

Hoorah! I'm glad you liked the review, and I do hope you get to see it!

Yeah, the neighborhood pool is such a blast, and all the neighborhood teens do the life guard thing and it's fun to just go and hang out with all the other families...

I enjoyed the movie so much--like grinning ear to ear the whole time. I'm glad you got to see it!

Hoorah! I can see WHY you were grinning the whole time, now. Wow. It was really great.

I am envious of your garden. My basil on the deck has withered under the last week of rain, although it's supposed to be sunny today and through the weekend, so I'm hoping it will perk up and come back from near death. My succulents are, so far, doing fine even with the extra rain.

Hopefully the sun will help!

yay for the succulents!!

Yeah, here things wilt because of the SUN, not the rain, adn the spinach is starting to get fried, a little, by the heat... bleh.

I know the end of the school year is crazy, but it sounds like you have plenty to keep you busy even after that.

And yum, that cake sounds good. I'm so tempted to run out and get the cookbook, but I bet it'd be way longer than a couple of years before my cake got made. :)

School ends tomorrow. Whee...

Yeah... I know the feeling abuot that last. *laughs* I should just send you a cake this winter. That would be good, still.

Cake! That would probably be a lot faster than I could do it. But I wouldn't want to add to your list of stuff to do. :)

Just let me say, I would totally do Spock. Oh my goodness gracious. *fans self*

Also, I am super impressed with your cake. My biggest confectionery accomplishment is Jello No-Bake Cheesecake. >_>
