Kouyou, the viewing of falling maple leaves, as closely followed as spring's hanami, and, for Kuchiki Byakuya, less fraught with memories of blood for all that the leaves more closely resembled that color.

I know a few folks that are really, really for the pairing, and being an ex-manager I just hold my head at the whole thought of a taichou/reporting-fukutaichou scenario, so I couldn't quite... This could be read lots of different ways, and I liked it that way. And they should get time off to goof a bit. *smiles*

Not that Byakuya would ever join them, but it's cool for them to have their fun. Plus, really, it's just about how Byakuya thinks of the fall and the traditional viewings and what he actually sees... someone pointed out that this is a good example of mono no aware. Beauty in that which is only fleeting...
