How is Shrek the Third compared to the first two?

I liked it well enough. I think the first was the best, but I don't even remember the second one. This one had Eric Idle as Merlin in it, which was cool enough. :-)

Nothing great, but kind of fun, and I liked how the princesses did some rescuing.
