Much sympathy to Jet (and to you all!) - I'm sorry that he had to actually have an open reduction, and that the closed one wasn't sufficient, but I hope things heal smoothly from now on.

I've had to modify my own diet recently, on doctor's suggestion: he said that I was in the first stage of hypertension, and that weight, exercise (lack of), and coffee intake were all a factor. Well, I've cut down my coffee intake, painful as that was, and he said my blood pressure had improved. Now if I could only manage to eat less and take more exercise...

Yes, all those things! It's a pain to change old habits. *laughs*

I'm glad that you've improved!

I'm glad that things turned out OK for Jet and you, and that your brain is re-sharpening as you wean it off sugar.

Thank you!

I love your title better than my own. *laughs* It is entirely appropriate, and yes, I'm also having to strop some of the rust off before I find my whetting stone. It's interesting to me that writing ideas and dreams have just started up this last month again for the first time in a few years.

Something about magic actually being a leveraging of the endless tides of change (or entropy, depending on the way you look at it) that occur naturally, a rock in the stream bed or a butterfly's wings, just a nudge in the chosen direction for a millennium's worth of momentum. It made me think about what those effects would actually look like, and if global warming isn't something like that. *laughs* Definitely a modern take, but it was a look at it from outside a box I haven't been able to step out of for a while.
