Sony just released an update which inlcudes Stanfords Folding@home program. When your not using the system you just start the program and let it do it's thing. Whats amazing is that with only about 30k active users, they are generating over 730 teraflops of computing power, 3 times what they were able to do before with over 200,000 cpus around the ( Read more... )

Am I stupid for not understanding this??? I've looked at both sites. Are they just using them as a network to do super math problems?

For the past 7 years they have been using a program that people download to their personal computers. When the pc is idle it starts the program and basically crunches numbers for a simulation of protein folding ( ... )
