Spent a mostly empty weekend recovering. Helped the Big Lug move from one house to another on Monday. Also had some barbecue with the folks.

Have started watching Lost season one tapes (don't have money for dvds) because the new season is coming and I want to have all of the details fresh in my mind. Have watched the Pilot and Tabula Rasa (Kate's ( Read more... )

I have to start a diet, too, and get back into the exermajize routine. It's not good. We shall inspire each other!

My LOST DVDs (the last I get to buy for awhile, because this habit is becoming really stupidly expensive, and I have other things to give/spend money on and other stuff I should be saving for) should ship soon. Yay!

I heard that the logic behind nominating Roberts is that it will speed up the whole process and allow the court to head into this year's session with a Chief Justice. If he nominated one of the current justices, there would be a whole new set of confirmation hearings that can take months. So the goal (other than putting his cronies into key positions, which hello?) is to keep the court running as efficiently as possible. Which... Okay... But how efficient is it going to be when it's run by someone with no experience? Sure, he clerked there, but for the love of Pete.

Yay for inspiration! I must exercise as well but with the ickiness lately I'm being very cautious. We shall both be trim(er) and fabulous when we go to see Serenity.

I've heard that the Lost dvd set is one of the best television sets out there, so you've invested your money wisely. They shall be as currency when the End Times come.

The Roberts nomination is political logic (with coupious amounts of bullshit) which has no relation to real logic. This is just Georgie's way of making sure that his boy gets on the court, no matter what.

If our generation didn't go into this presidential administration disgruntled and cynical then it certainly is by now.

You, disgruntled? Never.

Oooo, excellent plan. I think we'll have to order a time/space anomaly just so we can get through all we need to get through.

Stupid temperature. Doesn't it know that it's supposed to be exactly as we want it all of the time?

Honey, the Baron Harkonnen is everywhere. He was in the Spartacus remake as the owner of the gladiator training center. He does corrupt and effete very well. I think ... he's in my genetic memory ... yes, my dear boy, all I want to do is help you... ... must kill Miller ... must kill Miller ...

See, never saw the Spartacus remake. One of the disadvantages of living with the family at the time, tv viewing was highly restricted.

Ummm, just so long as your inner Baron never tries to take over the galaxy. Though, if he does let me know. I'm sure all sycophants and tag-a-longs will be highly rewarded by the New Regime.

Nah, I'll stick with Miller.

But is killing Miller really the way to go. The Baron Himself observed that he is a very pretty boy.

Actually, no. It was unusual for a sitting justice to be elevated to chief. The traditional thing is to go outside for a chief justice. This is kinda in-between.

See, I learn something new everyday. I should have realized a long time ago that just because a procedure makes sense in the outside world doesn't mean it makes sense in the Beltway.
