You know, I bet part of my stress was being internet incomunicada for the past week, or so. Right when I needed the soothing balm of fandom and lj friends I was cut off. Am feeling quite a bit calmer this afternoon.

I watched all of the Firefly dvds in three days. Wow. ( Television Blathering )

tv is my crack, stress, firefly, fannish intellectual servitude, work

Firefly is Joss's love song to the 'verse, and no mistake.

Hoor, you must come up here for the release. We could make ourselves sick on a Firefly weekend, read the bridging comic together, and then head downtown to the good cinema...

Or, if that's not possible, it seems like a likely candidate for another gathering of the RHAR EC at FGC.

*adores you*

I shall send you spoily little emails re: HBP! And shall send you my copy of the book when I'm done, if you like.

Joss's love song to the 'verse. I like that. It fits. It's true.

Oh.My.Gosh. Yes, I must come visit you for Serenity Weekend. We'll hold it at FGC if the Baylor Sisters have fallen madly in love with it. If not then I'm Chicago bound. Yeah, boy.

YAY! Spoily emails! Would love to borrow book when you're done. I even promise to not hurt it if it bothers me as much as OotP did. *crosses fingers*

With a perfect show I feel no need to fic the characters or situations because everything we're given is absolutely wonderful.

This is a very interesting observation. I think I'm inclined to agree with your categorizing of Firefly in the Perfection category. I love Firefly to death, but have never once felt even the slightest need to write fanfic for it. I would only mess up those lovely, lovely characters.

I've also had a terrible time picking favorites on that show. Each new episode would reveal a new insight or characteristic that would make me think, Zoe must be my favorite, and then the next week the same thing would happen with Shepherd Book, or with River. Every single character is so well developed and has such a solid sense of who they are that it's impossible to not love them all.

Oh Firefly, how we all love you.

I can't wait to see Serenity and the depth of my love is proved by how big a spoiler-phobe I am about the whole thing. Tell me what happens in Harry Potter and I will dance and laugh, tell my anything about Serenity and I will gut you, see if I don't.

Of course, the 'you' in question is the generic third person as I would never consider actually gutting you, my friend. ;-)
