I've finished part two of chapter one of the new story I've been writing. Yay! I'm so happy. It has a title now, as well (heehee!). Critique to your heart's content;-).

As Day Ends )

...and Merry had looked at it, stared right into it and suddenly found that he was falling. It felt almost leisurely, as if he were falling backwards into the Brandywine on a hot summer’s day.

Good. Good!

He remembered the danger and the fear and he shivered in spite of himself. This would happen again, Merry realized, he would spend the rest of this journey desperately running towards danger and darkness instead of away from it.

Yay... that's Merry. Beautiful.

Very good! I'm really impressed. How many chapters will follow?

Hee hee! Yes, exactly. I've always thought of Merry as something like quicksilver. When he makes up his mind he acts instantaneously and his mind is faster then most. Smart and swift.

The plan is to write three chapters with four parts (for each quest hobbit) per chapter. So that makes ... 10 parts to go;-).

You're eyeing your translation list?! That's the best compliment you could have possibly paid, seriously.

I really like this cycle of character studies you're writing. You show the fear and self-doubt for Sam (and now Merry), but also the resolve and courage that will see them through everything that awaits them.

Yes, poor hobbits, I expect to put all of them through the ringer here shortly. Frodo's up next, poor old boy.

Thank you so much for your unswavering support and unending supply of kind words. *hug*

Another delightful bit! You are doing an excellent job of fleshing out these moments that test the hobbits. Keep up the good work :)

Thank you! And the work keeps on rolling along. Of course 'good' is entirely a matter of opinion *giggle*

Yay! You posted more! :)

Once again, it's very nice and seems true to the character you're focusing on. :) The descriptions and comparisons are particularly good.

So... how long are you planning this fic to be? ;)

Yay! You commented on my next part! *hug*

I'm so glad you feel that the character voice is true. The muses are particularly loud right now and it's nice to know that I'm listening to the right ones;-). Thanks so much for such constructive comments.

The fic will be three chapters, four parts (per hobbit) each. There's more hurt yet to come, poor dears.

Awe, if only he knew.

Good work liptonrm, I liked.

I know, there's something so innocent about him (and all the hobbits) right now. It's amazing how much the things they undergo changes them. My poor boys.

I'm so glad you liked!
