Not sure but I'm an Engineer and have been characterized by more than one young lady as "not hideous". :P

Well, I'm also looking for the young lady engineers. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to be lucky straight out of the gate, but it's a false start.

They probably hang out with the rest of the physicists. You know, in physics buildings, or physics labs, or bars right outside of them. You can hang around APS if you really want to, but only crazy physicists go there.

(Us non-cute physicists are going to hide under our desks to cry now).

Considering that young female physicists are constantly surrounded by male physicists, the ones you're looking for might not mind the company.

Also, HEP labs are basically giant offices. We sit in cubicles most of the time. As long as you look like you know what you're doing, nobody will probably interrupt you if you wander around.
