[Edmund's being pushed, let it be known, willingly, into the kitchen by his sister. He eventually breaks off into a little dash before Susan, hoping to stuff a few more good cookies in his mouth before she can send him on his way to a rather tasty death. Oh, but Edmund will die happy now if it happens.]

[He must know that she can push him, and has pushed him, much harder other times before. She knows how he works.]

Don't think about it.

[One more push aside to count what are left out.]

Do you really call this kind? At this rate we'll have to start rationing like at home.

[Guess who's back? Peter shuts the front door with more force than usual, before plopping down on their couch without a hello.]

[Coming down the stairs in a t-shirt and pants. My how the mighty have fallen from their embroidered linens. He notices that grand entry.]

Peter?

[The retort that Edmund's about to snap half-heartedly back at Susan dies as they stop just outside the kitchen. He watches his brother come in, pauses. Something's wrong. Edmund takes a gentle step forward.]

Hey. You all right?

[The rapid change from cookie crook rascal to worried brother drops her fixation on baking. Susan turns and looks to the couch and to Peter. She knows better than to ask when Caspian and Edmund have already.]

[Oops. Dramatic entrance much? Peter doesn't feel like discussing what just happened, nor does he want his family worrying about him.]

I'm fine. I just got in a fight.

[Not the entire truth, but not a lie either. His tone is clipped, but he lightens his tone as he talks. He doesn't want them getting worried over something so stupid.]

With who.

[Caspian asks on the last step.]

[It's like the past all over again, Edmund sure Susan's thinking. After their return from Narnia. Edmund's brows knit in thought, he stands a little off to Peter, waiting for him to answer the question that's on everyone's mind, the question Caspian's decided to voice for them.]

A fight? Peter, why?

[Already she is sufficiently riled up dealing with Edmund. This isn't expected. It only just occurred to her that perhaps this was normal for Peter to go out and have a scuffle. It has been a month]

Fighting with people here... It's dangerous here, isn't it?

[She shakes her head and sighs, going to the kitchen to get a cold compress. Just in case.]

We had an argument. Then he threw a punch.

[He turns over to give Susan an annoyed look, as if she had to ask, before addressing Caspian's question.]

No one of importance.

[Oh he looks at Peter then, with an expression that says 'liar'.]

Did you win the fight?

[Judging from Peter's entry he thinks either Peter lost or it's not as unimportant as he wants them to think.]

[Peter's bad at this whole lying thing. Always has been. Some things never change.]

Right.

[He makes an indecipherable noise under his breath as he thinks it over. Edmund's eyes roam over his brother's form curiously.]

Argument over?

[Susan returns with a frozen pack of peas. It was better than steak, that was for dinner later this week. Not seeing anything visible, but knowing Peter he is likely down playing any injury. And so she just hands it to him.]

I hope it was more than a shove.

[Peter accepts it with a small muttered thanks, before placing the pack on the back of his head.]

Of course I won. It's over until he starts it up again, which he won't.

[He sits uncomfortably on the couch for a few more seconds, before changing the subject in order to lighten the mood.]

Are you baking... cookies?

[He watches Peter, quelling the urge to say he doesn't look like he won. Caspian would know, wouldn't he?]

Start what.

[He's asking questions, and he knows Peter doesn't like it, but Caspian is relentless in this particular circumstance.]
