Oh, I enjoyed this! I like fics where one sees the softer side of Augusta (though I still tend to look at her a bit unfavorably much of the time, especially when she compares Neville to Frank). The story behind the handbag and especially that vulture hat are wonderful!

One nitpick: Frances is a feminine name. I think you meant Francis?

As for comms: You could post this at genfic_hogwarts, and for female characters there's hp_oldladysb.

I'm glad you liked the story! I'm always hoping there's some kindness lurking under Augusta's gruff exterior - for Neville's sake!

The more I read this, the better I think it is. I love the little details (that sly remark about Trevor :)), and the last line. I really enjoyed reading Augusta's thoughts as she bundles Neville onto the train, and that fierce, "Minerva had better look after him". Excellent!

Thank you very much! I've always thought there was more to Trevor than met the eye ;)
And Minerva always seemed unduly harsh with Neville (3rd Year password incident) - perhaps she was just afraid of Augusta's wrath - lol.

Lovely. I adore seeing Augusta in fic, almost as much as Minerva. It's always fun to see things from her perspective rather than Neville's, to give her some understanding.

I love this. You give Augusta so much character and so much heart. The stories behind the hat and handbag are touching and sweet and the glimpses of her friendship with Minerve are a lot of fun.

Don't worry about the time issue. I like to give the authors/artists a heads up when the work is rec'ed because it doesn't matter how old the story is it's nice to know people are still reading it.
