Suntzu ~ may I ask you a quick Britpick question? What's the exact connotation of 'swot'? Is this like Hermione for being a bookworm... and does it have a schoolgirl implication? Or could you apply it in a description of, say, the Doctor? (i.e. "he was being perceived as an arrogant swot") Also do you use phrases like 'math geek' or 'computer nerd' or 'dork about science'?

A 'swot' can apply to anyone who will reads up on any subject (usually when it's not strictly necessary.
And we use computer nerd, science dork and maths geek (Math has an S on the end though.
