Went out to the city for the first time in a month. I was supposed to meet two of my colleagues, Christine and Patricia, at a bar/small concert venue. Patricia canceled evidently, since Christine was the only one who showed.

Which was fine with me. I've been getting to know Christine better lately anyway, whereas Patricia has always been pretty ( Read more... )

Christine sounds really nice. Like really, really nice. I wish there was alot more people out there that would do something like that. So many selfish people these days.

I know. I really surprised me. I never expect people to be that nice in this city, especially when I don't know them well. But she told me it was a big deal that I didn't flake out.

Where did you go?

I miss the city.

Sometimes, instead of taking the ferry, I would drive into Brooklyn and part at 15th Ave and 75th Street and take the W (then later the B) into the city. This way I didn't have to worry about missing a boat and waiting an hour.

We haven't spoken. I feel like I've been dropped hard, but it is what it is. I refuse to let Aimee's actions get to me.

That's what I thought, too. Totally unexpected. Such a simple gesture, really, but it blew me away. I don't think I was able to convey to her how much her actions meant to me.

I've never had someone do that for me who wasn't already a close friend or a lover. I wonder if I'm the odd one.

You're not the odd one! It's a shame more people don't show that sort of kindess :) I'm glad you were able to have some of it! I hope you guys hang out again!

Hopefully we will be. She's a nice girl. :) I invited her to come out to Staten Island whenever she has time.
