While We're Young

I saw another LJ user's dilemma on an intro post - I never wrote one of those either. You can learn a lot about me by reading my 2011 posts, but those entries probably spark questions. So, in this entry, I want to open it up to questions: anything you want to know (within reason, of course), feel free to ask in the comments below. I'll either ( Read more... )

What are some of your current life goals/where do you see yourself in five years (I feel like, depending on your mindset, one of those questions is bound to be easier and/or have a more instantaneous answer)?

What is your favourite book and how long has it held that position?

What are you top fandoms?

PS: If you're interested, my intro post is HERE. I normally have it linked in the sidebar but this new layout doesn't have one soooo... I must resort to more direct measures.

Questions about the future are intrinsically difficult to answer, but I'll give it a shot ( ... )

American Gods is one of my all-time favourites. And Madeleine L'Engle will always have a spot in my heart. I was obsessed with her "time quartet" (or whatever they're called, A Wrinkled in Time and all those) but I read most (if not all) of her other works too.

You're into journalism, are you not? Perhaps you could share why you chose that field of study? ^^;

That's true; I'm a journalism grad student. I'd sure hope I was interested. LOL

I've been watching Top Gear, an automotive journalism program, for about 6 or 7 years. I thought I wanted to be a fiction writer when I was early in my undergrad years, so I tried my hand at it. My work was devoured faster than a chocolate cake at a birthday party. Then I took a few journalism courses, and applied to graduate school for journalism.

I originally assumed I would do magazine writing/feature writing, but my first semester taught me that I'd really quite tired of print journalism (two years of print at the college newspaper). I'm moving into the broadcast media, trying to get on screen. I want to host my own automotive TV show.

I like writing, so I took a course of journalism in my senior year. It was hard for me because when I needed to get accurate quotes sometimes I would mishear things, so I realized it wasn't for me.

I wish you the best of luck in your studies. ^^

Hi, I saw you on add_me and read through your journal a bit. I'd like to have you on my flist; I like the way you write. I am a student also, although I am still working on my undergrad this is my second go-round with school so sometimes when people find out my age they assume I am in a graduate program. I also enjoy playing guitar.

Most people in my program think I'm older. I'm one of if not the youngest peron in the class.
