I honestly thought it was the worst and it definitely did not need to be split up into two parts. A whole bunch of nothing happens. Eclipse is hands down my favorite.
I completely disagree that nothing happens. Bella experiences marriage, sex, impending motherhood, mortal death and transformation all in one film. There's no way this could've been 1 film with Part 2 (unless it was a VERY long film) because the second film will obviously cover Bella's experience as a vampire and as a wife and mother.
Yes, some scenes dragged. But I would choose all of the Edward/Bella romance in BD Part 1 over NM/Eclipse action anyday.
I don't know how anyone could say this is the worst and actually mean it.
I'm not crazy about the wolf parts or the length of the J/B dance, but the E/B scenes are beautiful, emotional and generally well-developed.
Layered performances from Rob/Kristen and wonderful chemistry between them.
I love BD's visual references to Twilight, which was my initial favorite of the films. Other scenes are also visually striking, such as Bella's nightmare and the birth scene.
I really don't like the emphasis on action in the 2nd/3rd films. It felt like the romance (EB's relationship) played second fiddle.
Imo the story of BD, with Bella taking a huge physical and emotional journey towards her transformation, translated very well to the screen.
I honestly thought it was the best one (andnotjustbecausetherewasnoridiculousyoushouldhavepuppieswithjacobtalk)
It was the closest to the book, and I found that the essence of Edward/Bella was kept pretty intact, apart from the uber long Jacob/Bella dance but other than that I loved every minute of it.
