+ Edward talks about how he rebelled against Carlisle and went off on his own for a few years. How do you imagine his life during that time? How did he act, what did he do? Hmm, I've always been a fan of Darkward. I particularily like when Edward talks about his past because he's confessing officially that he's not the immaculate 'diamond' Bella sees him as, there's a roughly cut side too (or, at least, there was). I believed Edward kicked ass for good, and good only. That is all.

I've always adored him, but even more so now that Peter Facinelli has brought him to life. I adore Carlisle! I think the way he influenced Edward was not to hold on too hard. When Edward rebelled, he let Edward go, and then forgave him and welcomed him back. I've always thought that was a really key part of Carlisle's character. He lets his family walk their own path (i.e. when he thinks Alice and Jasper have skedaddled in BD) and is always there to take them back.

I can never understand Jacob fans who claim Edward is some kind of weakling or sissy just because he's a gentleman and a romantic and likes books. This man ate serial killers and rapists for breakfast... no sissy, that. I love the idea of him using his powers to separate the guilty from the innocent, and eat only the guilty. I don't think the movie even did it right. The way the line was delivered, it doesn't make sense. But in the book, it's sort of Edward lightening up a little, teasing Alice about her desire to tear James limb from limb. I'm assuming. Because Alice growls right after that, and it's adorable. IDK.
