twilight readalong
Welcome to the Organization Post for lion_lamb's Twilight read along. The plan is to read Twilight over eight weeks, which means three chapters a week. I figure since we've all read the the book that covering three chapters over a week will be easy even with school and work. I hope you can all participate!
A few things to remember before we start:
- Debate is encouraged. Expect differing opinions and please don't take disagreement as criticism of you personally.
- Bashing will not be tolerated. If you make a debate personal and insult members for their opinions you won't be allowed to participate.
- This is meant to be fun. If you don't have a lot of time to read, that's okay. Skim and join in the conversation anyway.
- There is no such thing as being late to a readalong post. Take your time and join the discussion any time during the week.
- Beyond that, there are no rules. Make the discussion whatever you want it to be.
Schedule:
Week 0: Organization Post
Week 1: Chapters 1-3
Week 2: Chapters 4-6
Week 3: Chapters 7-9
Week 4: Chapters 10-12
Week 5: Chapters 13-15
Week 6: Chapters 16-18
Week 7: Chapters 19-21
Week 8: Chapters 22-24 + Epilogue
A few points to keep in mind as you read the first three chapters:
+ Stephanie chose to write the book in first person. Did it make Bella's experience more effective, or do you prefer third person?
+ What was your first impression of Bella? Of Charlie? Of the humans? Of Edward?
+ The biology scene. Sexual tension~ or innocent banter?
+ The van scene and E/B's discussion at the hospital, was it an effective way to set up their relationship?
+ Did you think Edward was being a jerk, or did you understand his motivation?
+ We get a glimpse into Bella's relationship with her mom and dad, do you think they are healthy ones?
+ Make sure to mark all your favorite passages and quotes to share with the group.
