I personally love both HP and Twilight, but I feel that they are obviously very different. HP has an interesting and elaborate plot, whereas Twilight has a LOT of emotional power. I love them both, but for entirely different reasons. If I had to choose, I would pick Twilight, because of the emotional impact that reading the series has on me.
I started reading HP when it first came out, when I was 11. I HATED to read and it got me into reading and liking books. I grew up with the series and i wouldn't take anything for it.
Now I have gotten hooked on Twilight for different reasons and it holds a separate place in my heart from HP, although, they sometimes overlap, like a Venn diagram.
I hate that people are comparing the two because they are different, yet they do share similarities, even if its just Rob and JamieCB. I am glad that industry execs are trying to keep these two separate because if they clashed in terms of marketing or releasing stuff my head might explode.
If I was in HP, I would conjure up my own Edward. And if I was in Twilight, I would track the Phelps twins and my first HP crush, the guy who played Oliver Wood.
I love them both so much. I don't get why there is so much competition between the fandoms. If you like one more than the other, why does it matter? And liking one and not the other does not make a person morally superior.
BTW, I have my tickets for Tuesday night!! And I'll be buying my tickets for midnight on Nov. 19th too.
i hate how they always try to compare and compete HP with Twilight. they make it seem like one of these fandoms will win at the end. NO. people can equally love both or love one more than other.
i personally love HP way more. i've been a fan for quite a long time now. i experienced those grueling yet exciting waits for the next couple of books to come out and i loved it. i miss those days.
i became a fan of Twilight last year as the buzz for the movie escalated. it was after BD was released so i never got to experience excitement of waiting for the next book. but i love the series nonetheless.
