The situation with my best friend: it's not working anymore, and I don't know what to do. We've always been different, but we managed to get along because our personalities somewhat matched. Then we went off to university -different

Eeh, can understand you... My best friend has changed a lot as well and now we're not in that good friendship we used to be.. That's hard and I'm still sometimes trying to revive those relations but it kinda doesn't work... When ppl begin to be (if I can say so) far away from each other they keep away doesn't matter if they want it or not. Though, if they both do want to keep their friendship I guess it can work, doesn't matter if they're different or not...

Yeah I know what you mean. Like I have a lot of long distance friends and it's been great, so I thought it would be the same with her. I thought things would not be different, but she changed so much it's crazy. I guess I'll try to keep it together a while longer and see how I feel.

Yeah it's different indeed when you have friends who have always been far away and when you have a friend who has always been near and then left... And I agree that you should see how you feel with this situation before doing something :)

Me and my best friend (since birth, eep!) were like that... when we were young it didn't matter if we were different, but then we grew apart and I just couldn't stand how she was. I never said it, obviously, but we just got to the point where it wasn't fun because there was no common ground. I really regret that now, because at the end of the day, we should've just grown past those differences. Now we don't have any contact it barely seems like it would matter any more :(

The same is kind of happening here. I can be out of contact with her for a while and I won't even notice. Anyway I think I'll try to go past the differences for now and see how it goes.
