Funeral songs

Leece asked the other day given it was her dad's funeral, what three songs you would have played at your funeral.

I asked goth_kittie about this later on that night as we were sitting there chatting. Her first two choices cracked me up. She'd have Ding Dong, The Witch is Dead as well as Staying Alive. The third stumped her a little... and I was sitting there ( Read more... )

I've left Sonia with instructions that:

a) if it's an open casket, the mortician either has to give me a really shocked expression or a cheesy grin and two thumbs up, and;

b) if I'm cremated, she has to secretly fill the coffin with those little Chinese screaming fireworks...

Also I think the Queen Flash Gordon song would be pretty awesome for my funeral.

AHAHAHAHAHA...

Go for the shocked expression.. That is totally awesome. ;) I think the time has come for funerals to try and be more about the life that was if it is at all possible...

My partner wants me to give him a traditional Viking funeral if he dies.. So that should be a hoot. :)

I've always been tempted by "I Feel Good" by James Brown, but I'm not sure I'd dare...

I love "Dream a Little Dream" but it's damn hard to sing in tune. And it's hard not to think vampire thoughts about the lyrics.

Night breezes seem to whisper kill them all

I've said before that I would like the Russian Dance from the Nutcracker to be played while my coffin is carried in. Preferably carried by a bunch of big pudgy hairy guys in pink tutus and those dancing slippers with ribbons, who are attempting to twinkle-toe.

And I know that dalekboy has stated a wish for Nerfherder's "500 ways to die".
