Now that I've discussed things with my dear f-list, gotten over my initial reaction, and gained a measure of clarity, I felt a follow-up post on this episode was definitely in order. In addition, there will memorable quotes and pic spam due to the sheer amount of PRETTY :).

Ian Somerhalder's face is flawless especially in it's ability to portray Damon's utter bedazzlement when he first sees Elena.
PREACH, bb.
But Caroline and Klaus are simply disarmingly charming. I can't believe how much I love them, how much I want to see MOAR of that, because seeing a 1000+ year old creature completely schooled by an 18 year old girl just shows that humanity is humanity is humanity--even for a hybrid. So great.
Also, I'm glad for my part in helping you feel better about the episode as a whole. Can't wait to see where we go from here!

Tee Hee. You have such a way with words, bb. Your reactions are wonderful and adorable (especially when it comes to a certain IS).
I actually share your sentiment, which doesn't make a lot of sense to me as it should be Nina that I feel that way for. None the less, Mr. Smolderhalder inspires it in me, just as he does you. *scratches head* I guess it's just one of the mysteries of the universe.

Well said, bb. I do love how the show prizes humanity. It makes all of the characters relatable on some level, even when the majority of them are not strictly 'human'. I'm totally with you in wanting more of Klaus/Caroline on my screen.
*hugs*
Thursday can't come soon enough for me ...

I believe that Stefan was thinking of Elena and their conversation out back of la Casa des Originals. I felt that he was relating to the initial 'I' in Elena's "I said something I didn't mean." rather than to Damon as the topic of their discussion.
I went back and watched Stefan's conversation with Damon when he comes back to life. As far as I could tell Stefan meant everything he said to Damon. Although, Stefan may have been referring to their scene in Elena's kitchen when Stefan declared it was Damon's job to care whether Elena lived or died.
Hmmm, both cases pertain to his feelings for Elena. Perhaps the answer to your question is both, then - He was thinking of Elena while referring to 2 conversations; one with Damon and the other with Elena.
Thanks for commenting. :)

And I do agree with the idea that Elena must go dark. It's Stefan the one who disappoints me the most because his characterization is all over the place right now...
Anwyay I still think Elena should have gone to see Damon.
And hey I might have a thing for Kol and I want to see more of him and Damon together...
