Actually getting to watch it was a bit of an adventure. Our Town became available for download on iTunes at 11 am yesterday (that was when I got my notify e-mail), unfortunately the iTunes Store was not working until about 12:30 pm. I get the downloads started.  A couple of hours later, I think I should check on it, and find out there have been ( Read more... )

0When you read my post, you'll see that I agree with a lot of this. I wanted to address your random comments actually --

- Elena said: "The girl with a normal life and didn't fall in love with vampires" - TEE HEE - PLURAL - AS IN MORE THAN ONE!!!! Just saying' :D

I wanted to squee about this and others did as well, but considering how it was phrased, I didn't take it as being about Stefan and Damon, but rather a girl who happens to fall in love with vampires -- not meaning specific vampires, but that "type" of individual.

How did Elena call Damon to pick her up? Surely her phone would have been severely damaged when Stefan threw it out the window of his not-going-slowly car ...

I thought that at first, but remember Klaus knew that they were on Wickery Bridge, and he would have told Damon (who was there) because Damon would protect Elena like no one else.

I think I might be giving up my Caroline/Stefan ship and changing to see where Caroline & Klaus may go ... Nooooooooooooooooooooo ... I will never give up Caroline/ ( ... )

You do have a good point about Elena referring to the species rather than individuals. It makes more sense than my original reaction, as the tone of the whole conversation with Matt is generalities. Also, it's too early yet for Elena to be putting the word love and even the implication of Damon in the same sentence. I do think the show's writer enjoy playing with the fans a bit as surely they'd have had an idea that some of us would take it that way.
It makes sense, too, that Klaus would tell Damon where Elena was. I'm just used to her using her formerly ever-present cell phone. I wonder what product placement will win out for her new phone?

That scene on the porch was just so perfect it's at the top of my Best DE Moments list (for now). Her longing for him was so sweet right there, I just felt like she knew if he kissed her it, it would make her feel so much better after such an AWFUL evening, but at the same time she had to try to do the right thing. This could tie into her reveal that she knows it's wrong to have compelled Jeremy, so here was the place where she was trying to do what's right, but what made it so much more was Damon being all I know and not forcing anything. So tender, so sweet, it's like I seriously cannot handle how amazing they continue to be. *flails ( ... )

That's a very interesting insight that her determination to do the right thing is in full force in reaction to her belief that she was wrong to compel Jeremy. Damon's response for the most part would have made it easier for Elena, and was so sweet & tender, as you said. I have so much respect and admiration for Elena for letting her desire to do the right thing win out over the desire to have the pain of Stefan taken away for just one night. When Elena said, "I can't. It's not right", I found myself adding, "but you could come up to my bedroom and just be with me, please ...". I know that's wrong of me to think that, but crikey, doesn't the girl deserve a moment of selfishness?

Stefan is definitely more scary to me than Damon ever was!!

I am still interested in Meredith, too and curious to see where this storyline goes.
