So I turned on the radio this morning, and of course, they are talking about Iraq, todays story being the abduction of Kim Sun-il. They played an audio excerpt of the video, where he pleads in Korean and English for his life

When I woke up to the news on NPR this morning, I first thought a similar thing as you did -- that if I was ever held hostage and videotaped, I would like to act completely bored and a little sarcastic or silly in front of the camera. And then, for some reason, you came to mind (I suppose because you are an expat). So reading this entry was an interesting convergence...

You and I and our interesting convergences of late... :) Though you know, America re-invading Germany in the case that some wayward Bavarians kidnap me might not be the worst thing in the world. With all the American military bases still here in southern Germany, it wouldn't even be that hard to mobilise the troops. (I'm so mean to the Germans, aren't I?)
