Waiting for the train....

I’m super done with all the usual representations of Duo Maxwell, the American Gundam pilot. They’re usually really overly patriotic or too… homegrown, I guess. Maybe it’s just my idea of Duo as a character, or maybe just my own life, but I prefer a more urban identity for him. A Brooklyn punk he’ll be to me, and I guess that’s why I’ve suddenly ( Read more... )

Lol oh. Waiting for a train is a song on the Inception soundtrack.

Its a reference to the movie line "You're waiting for a train, a train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you, but you don't know for sure. But it doesn't matter. Because you'll be together"

Ahhhhh I wasn't even thinking that. Everywhere else I posted this, I called it "This Is A Coney Island, Stillwell Avenue Bound Local F Train", but that have away where it was too much and I wanted to amuse myself at people who might know Brooklyn well. Buuuuuut hearing that I referenced such a great line makes me happy because it kind of touches on the personal situation with my boyfriend. I should maybe watch that movie again.

That is a great picture. I can see Duo as a punk very easily.

Congrats on the promotion.

Duo is obviously a punk right out of 1985. Especially one from Brooklyn. Or maybe down on the LES...

Well, I haven't gotten it yet, but I put in my application and I'll likely at least get the interview. My boss has me freaked out that I am not ready, but I think I need to go for it anyway. I often feel like she is half of why she thinks I'm not ready in the first place. (I.E. she thinks I lack leadership skills, but she is the kind of person where if you make the wrong choice, she freaks out.)

I really like how this turned out. Not only how awesome Duo looks, but the way it looks like this piece was cut out from a larger picture. Very nicely done.

It sounds like things are going well. Congratulations!

Haha, thanks. I want to do more Brooklyn scenes, I think. Coney Island next! He's on the platform to head down there anyway!

Things I think are heading in a good way but it's really hard for me to be patient. It gives me lots of time to freak out that things will go wrong and it's hard for me to keep myself positive. It's hard for me to even think that it's possible for everything to work out the way i want. I guess that's my issue though D:
