I am having trouble understanding what "グズグズ" means in this sentence: あのグズグズだった頃の俺の心がお前となぁなぁになる事をまだ許していないのは確かだ

Probably here it means "hesitation or taking a lot of time and effort in putting something into action".
My heart in those hesitant and troubled times...
