I've never heard it before, but I don't read romance novels. I mainly speak UK English but have lived in Canada too.

Never heard of it. American English, Alaskan, PNW, upper midwest, SW (Arizona), and NE (NYC) dialects I either speak or am familiar with.

Okay, thanks for commenting - the pool of states grows smaller! I've traveled to Europe and a great deal of the US and spent most of my life in northern CA.
