Manel covered Pulp's Common People -- in Catalan, though. You can find a couple versions on youtube (it's called "La Gent Normal").

This seems to happen a lot in Denmark. I know 'laban' has done a few, as have Lis Sørensen. Traditionally 'Mandalay' is probably the most famous one.
Leonard Cohen had an entire album dedicated to him with Danish interpretations of his songs. (LC på danske læber).
Lots of pop (and all disney) songs gets translated for the enjoyment of children and young teens, such as 'Hands up' -> 'Op med hænderne'.

Oh and 'Puff the magic dragon'. I absolutely loved the Danish version when I was a child.
