I'm also curious to know what English sounds like to non-English speakers. I also love to hear other native speakers try to sound like Americans.

Those who don't speak the 'target' language can't hear the words separately as they are. They may link two or more words, so they appear as if they were one. Some words are split up, on the other hand, because they appear to a listener as two or more words. When put in writing, they use the spelling system of their own languages. They may also not recognize all the sounds of the language in which something is sung, for example, which results in substituting those for the similar ones existing in their languages.

The truly bizarre thing is I keep trying to parse it as actual English... and English is a native language to me
