I believe it's Option+Q on the standard US layout for Macs. I know that's what it is on the US-Extended layout (which I prefer since it has access to more diacritics and such).
One may criticize Macs for other things (you won't hear any criticisms from me though), but one cannot say they're hard to use. I adore typing in a foreign language on a Mac, it's such a humongoue pain in the neck to attempt to do so on a PC.
Wow, great :) Now, what's left is to find a trick to memorize this number. Let's see... "0" looks like "o" and "6" is like flipped "e"... And what about 15? :)
Alternatively, if you don't have a separate numeric keypad (such as on a laptop), you can enter the Unicode directly. For œ, it would be 0153 Alt-X. [Note that the number itself is different from the keypad version.]
If you're fond of Firefox, there's a useful extension called abcTajpu that lets you type all sorts of letters from several languages (link). Enter Alt+F1 and click on your character or right click, select your language and character. You can also set your own keyboard shortcuts, I believe.
well, i can't find that on the US-International layout, but what i do for when i have to type something strange like latin for which my keyboard doesn't have symbols, i set up macros in microsoft word or just use the character map. :/
