Chorded Keyboards

Since standard keyboards can recognize multiple keypresses, does anyone know of any chording keyboard software that doesn't require additional hardware? There is also software that allows you to make your own keyboard layouts, but as far as I know none of them let you do quite what is needed to accomplish the same sort of thing that chorded ( Read more... )

Yup. The #1 reason I insist on using keyboards connected to the PS/2 port rather than the USB port is that the PS/2 type can handle real keychords -- multiple keys down at once. That also helps when you're a fast typist and don't want your keyboard to drop letters as you type!

I recently read this article about chording software for Braille (a writing system for English using raised dots, intended for use by the blind) which works with an ordinary keyboard.
