If you go to http://www.runics.net/ and page down to the "faith & belief" section at the bottom, you will see a T-shirt with the phrase "Please stop wishing me a merry Christmas" in what I assume are Hebrew or pseudo-Hebrew characters that "just happen" to be readable as Latin characters ( Read more... )

I don't understand why you would be telling other Hebrew-speakers (who are likely Jewish) to not wish you a Merry Christmas.

I think it's a general "you". As in what would be the point in wearing a t-shirt with Hebrew for "stop wishing me a Merry Christmas" on it when the target audience that could read it wouldn't do so anyway.

It doesn't say that in Hebrew. It doesn't say anything in Hebrew. It simply uses regular Hebrew letters and Hebrew letters which have been re-oriented (upside down for example) and reconfigured so that they are similar to the characters in English. The words are read in English. If you don't see that, it could be that you're looking too closely.

The effect is that whoever reads it will know (blue and white, hebrew looking letters, etc) that you don't celebrate Christmas.
