Honey and Clover + rest of Juuni Kokki

Heh, I spent my three-day Presidents' Day weekend watching Ep. 1-13 of Honey and Clover and up to the end of the Wa Rebellion arc (Ep 39) in Juuni Kokki. Bad, bad me didn't get any work done, but I think it was worth it.

Honey and Clover:

I started Honey and Clover for two reasons: one, it's a purported favorite of Kubo Tite's, and I was interested ( Read more... )

According to my sister, who just recently finished all of 12 Kingdoms, there's something about what happened to Rakushun at the end. So maybe there is a purpose to that last arc after all? (I mean, I like it because it has En'ou, but it was still kind of weird after the Kaze no Banri arc.)

Ah, I haven't watched it. I like En'ou so I might, but doesn't it just abruptly end? That might be too heartbreaking for me to handle.

I really want to know what happens to Rakushun. He gets a ruling period of Kei named after him; to disappear from the story like that would be shameful. Plus, his human form's rather cute. :)

No, the arc itself has a proper ending. It's just the plot threads running through the entire series that go unanswered, namely what happened to Taiki. I think the objection to the last arc is just that it's so short and trivial-feeling after the huge Kaze no Banri arc, so the latter makes a better stopping point. But it's not like KareKano where they ran out of budget and just chopped things off in the middle of a storyline or anything.

Ah, good. That does sound better. Ouch at poor KareKano. Well, it's still better than how Eva dealt with budget issues - scribbling stuff on scraps of paper....

Yeah, with Kaze no Banri's ending, you can sit better and relax knowing that at least Youko's position as Kei'ou is more secure after her display of power, and that at least her classmates had their own resolutions too.

I actually didn't find the Taiki sub-arc that boring, namely because I can poke fun at stiff ol Keiki. :)
