This is AMAZING and poignant and it rings true in a way that seems counter-intuitive for transcript-form stuff. I feel as if I should print it out (if only I had a colour printer!) in order to appreciate it properly. I love the connection you've made between the apple and Tarsus (I've been pondering a similar connection myself which I may put in a fic some day). The two interview subjects' occasional switches into second person hit particularly hard, because this is what many people do to put distance between themselves and the events they're relating, but I'm much more likely to hear it on the news than I am to come across it in fic.

Altogether, this is lovely work which is likely to stick with me a long time, and I plan to read it again tomorrow after I've slept.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment - the interviews were the hardest part of this to write, and it eases my mind quite a bit to know that they rang somewhat true for you. Knowing you liked it enough to actually come back and read it again is also very gratifying indeed. :) So thank you!

What a wonderfully creative fill! I love the oral history approach, and the images and getting into McCoy & Kirk's friendship. Really, really terrific!

What a beautiful answer to the prompt. Everything was so seamless...I loved the hand written notes and the image at the end, interwoven so perfectly with the transcripts. Thanks for taking the time to make this and share. A very, very powerful piece.

Thank you so much! I'm glad the piece worked for you (the notes are my favorite bit, too). :)
