I've been illustrating for the "ForbiddenFruit" gay erotica web zine for almost two years now, and I've discovered many wonderful stories as well as having a lot of fun illustrating a few of them. The zine is free, and authors and artists volunteer to contribute ~ it's a true work of love and I really think that shows ( Read more... )

Yeah, for a while it looked as if the zine would go the way of the dodo after Fiona didn't have the time to organise it all... Fortunately there are a few lovely people out there to whom FF means a lot, and who jumped right in to take over and relieve her of the workload. :)
I'm really glad I won't have to do without FF, too!

And despite the minor flaws in this first issue by the new staff team, I think it's a great selection of stories!

Oh it is, really. Even if that latest installment of that DnD in the office story (*draws a blank for the title*) had me a little confused. >

I love that pic of Seth and Lazlo so very much. It's just awesome. And the other one too - rawr! May have to go check out the story.

*g* Thank you, dear!

You definitely have to go and read "Angus" - it's sweet and funny and I've grown extremely fond of those two characters in a very short time! And the author already mailed me with some lovely feedback for my art, so I'm over the moon! :)

You will have to - it's one of my pen names!! The story has been perfectly illustrated! The artist has the Angus of the title just right and I love all the other details in the room, which add to the story without me having to write them!!! Isn't she clever?
Plus, I now find she's on your f'list too so we can have three-way conversations!
Pssst. Don't tell her how brilliant she is or she might run off to higher pastures and stop illustrating our stories. Yours is great, too!

Thank you!
I'm enjoying art now more than ever, I think ~ I'm glad to hear some of it shows! :) And of course, the material I worked with is fantastic!

Am ridiculously busy at the moment, so I'm just waving to say that I saw and enjoyed :-)

The details are fantastic! Window curtains, Buddha statue, the striped wallpaper, they all look gorgeous.

The second picture has got a wonderfully casual flair about it.

You poor thing! I hope the workload eases soon! *hugs*

All the more thanks for your comment! :) I was a bit worried I went overboard on the details in the illustration for "Angus", but all of it just... happened to suddenly be there in the room, and it felt right, so I included it in the inked version.

And Seth and Lazlo (in the second picture) are two good friends comfortable in each other's company, so they don't have to stand on ceremony when having a beer on the porch... All the little details were fortunately included in the story, so I didn't have to make anything up. *g*

I'm glad to hear they work as intended and that you like them!

I've already squeed your ears off about it, but I'd like to add that I'm very fond of the discarded trousers on the floor. And the cushion on the rocking chair. You know. all those little details that make the characters look even more alive. Fish are alive in a tank containing nothing but water, but they look more real and feel more comfortable if there is an environment to interact with in. And with characters it's the same. BRAVA!

*checks ears* *finds them still firmly attached to her head* ;)

For some odd reason my brain constantly provides me with tons of random little details to include in any given picture... sometimes so many of them pop up that it becomes hard to focus on the main topic of a drawing. *g*

That said, I'm sure my Thomas!fishy and James!fishy are grateful for the pebbles and plastic castles and treasure chests I put into their tank. *^_______^*
But OMG the mental image you just triggered with that!!!! I don't even have fishy pets - or ever wanted some. Augh! My brain! ó_Ò
