I gotta say I'm truly enjoying the dynamic between River and Octavian. Makes things ever so interesting, specially if we add the Doctor to the equation. I would like to see the result of that!

I felt the angels storyline, particularly the way it fits into the broad arc, had a lot of holes in the way it applied to River. She sort of exists on the wrong side of the cracks, having seen the second big bang before facing the Byzantium. I enjoy imagining she's seen the world shift forward and back. And Octavian fills a niche in my own arc.

I just read all 3 chapters at once and I love this! I love the way time shifts and changes around her and it works. I love how you have worked in little throwaway lines from canon - the Nestene duplicate with swappable heads!

I think you are right that there is a lot of potential for Father Octavian in this. I can't wait to see his meeting with the Doctor from his point of view.

That scene is in a few chapters, and I look forward to writing it. I was getting the sensation that for a Doctor and River fic, this didn't have very much Doctor in it, so the next chapter is a young River and one of the oldest Doctor's (if not the oldest) we'll see. He knows everything and can tell her nothing.

I get weird joy out of nonlinear storytelling. DW is a great outlet for it! (Also I am a canon whore and there will be plenty of throwaways.)
