Why is it that writing 1k words of my perfectly sensible HP fic feels like a Herculean effort and leaves me feeling that I have let down the home team by failing to get more written...but writing 1k of vampire porn is both perfectly simple and utterly satisfying?

Because...plot is hard. I know exactly what happens straight up to the end of my WIP, so why am I scrolling through the meme looking for anything weightless and easy to catch my eye?
