Doing the pundit rounds, and some of them are talking about the Republican debate, which I frankly don't give much of a fuck about. (I didn't care about the Democrats' debate either. IT'S MAY OF 2007 YOU CRAZY FUCKERS!) But I caught this gem on Rude Pundit:

Insane. Definitely insane. You saw him on TDS last week, right? IN. SANE.

But, you know - I watched last night, while LJing, and they're ALL insane.

Well you kind of expect a certain degree of insanity. But unlike the usual kind of insane, which makes me fall down on my face and cry because these people are running America right now, this particular variety of insane makes me giggle hysterically.

He's pandering, and he always gets that damn grin when he thinks he's doing a good job of trying to make us think he's conservative. Anyway, they're all screwed if Thompson announces he's running.

Several pundits announced that in fact Thompson won the debate. Which may in fact be true.

In a similar vein, another guy suggested that the real winners were the people who didn't bother to tune in.

I'm glad I only read the live-blogging; they were complaining about how inane some of the questions got. But at least it gave Duncan Hunter a bit of chance to get his name out there. And surprisingly Tancredo kind of tanked. If he can't handle an early debate, I wonder how many of us lowered our opinions of him.
