Ugh

I don't know what the matter is with me. I think it might be because of winter setting in, or the lack of exercise I've been getting... but now I'm second guessing myself about the whole jumping-into-trying-to-sell-my-art thing. It's been three weeks, and I don't have a damn thing to show for it. My website isn't up, I don't have cards, I don't ( Read more... )

The template looks great!! And the technical ability will come in time, especially if you offer items that you can create over and over (antlers, etc) as well as one-of-a-kind (altered Goodwill nifty stuff)

I believe in you!! :)

Welcome to my world! Seriously, I've about a million ideas in my brain (things to make) and they never seem to make it beyond the planning stages. It is like adult onset ADD to the 10th power and I hate to talk and not "do".

You've amazing technical skills and creativity - your costumes speak volumes and once you put yourself out there, I'm sure success will follow:)

PS. What kind of serger do you have? I'm in the market and baffled with options.

I have a Brother serger, 2 needle (four thread,) but I don't like it very much. It's ok for doing seams that will be encased in a hem, but there's really no good way to fix the ends otherwise, and it's difficult to use very precisely. It's also pretty much impossible to turn corners. I highly recommend a single needle (three thread.) I have the capability of taking one of my needles out, but it is still hard to work with because of the lack of precision. I end up sewing everything with my regular machine and then just using it as a stabilizer or fray check a lot of the time, or to cut the bulk out of many-layered seams.

Thanks for all your encouragement, everyone. :)
