The blanket of doom and destruction is FINISHED! Mostly only people on IM have heard me complaining about this thing, but I've had it in my possession for over 4 years. My Nana started it for my sister, picked the pattern and bought all the yarn, and then lost most of her eyesight, at least for close work, and couldn't crochet anymore. So I said ( Read more... )

Thank you! I'm just glad I got the ripple one done for Christmas, and REALLY glad that I got the other one done at all!

Oh! So that's why your sister wouldn't agree to any color changes, because it's for her? Makes sense now, cause I was like, wtf, she's not the one doing the work. They're both gorgeous blankets. I'll have to have someone show me how to make those wavy lines so I don't always have to do the boring few stitches I know.

It's good work you do! :)

Yep--she didn't want it changed because my Nana started it for her, so she wanted it staying the same. Which is fine and all except it made me crazy.

Doing the ripple afghan is really very easy--it's nothing but chains, skipped spaces, and single crochets. Once you get the knack--super simple. I can try and send you the pattern sometime if you like.

Yay blanket done! And thanks!
