I hadn't read your previous post on the sleazebag who hit you before, and I'm glad you linked to it here, and gave a bit more background. Because, YES. You are so right, the situation of a victim of any kind of violence is *not* clear-cut at all, and in most cases it's *not* an uncomplicated and easy thing to "just remove yourself from the situation". There is often such arrogance and superiority, even contempt in the stance of people who talk about victims of such scenarios, simply because these people are unspeakably ignorant.

So, thank you for this. I found it very illuminating to read, and will remember it for a very long time.

Man, he really, really was a sleezebag. And a few years later, I saw him again, and he was all bitchy because I was that lying girl who made all the Macbeth boys mad at him for no good reason. Um. Yeah. Awesome. Fortunately? They believed me, and not him. I was more fortunate than a lot of people in that when I did tell? People believed me.

I suppose that the part where he hit me in front of them helped, yeah? Yeah.

But yeah. This is not clear cut. If it was? Then so many people wouldn't have the same stories, would they? It wouldn't still be happening!
