Isn't ohrwurm 'earworm'? A song that gets stuck in your head? Or have I confused it with something else?

I feel like Brian Cox has been sullied now, I'm sad :(

yes, it's a song that gets stuck in your head. i just haven't found one word in english that means the same. everyone i asked said they didn't know just one word to describe it.

:/

why doesn't english have a word for "ohrwurm"? *pouts* *shrugs* I mostly use ohrwurm as a loanword, like schadenfreude, to make up for the fact that english doesn't have a specific word for it.

ah, that's good to know. so i could just use it as a loan word as well?

That's probably the easiest way to go about it, yeah :) You can always just explain it to anyone who doesn't know what it means.

When other people use 'earworm' I know what they mean, but if you asked me the question I would just look at you blankly. :P So the other people you asked are probably like me XD
