It's weird - now that I spent so much time in Sookie's head (oh boy, 10 novels and a couple of short stories :D Gah, I want more! ), I actually like Sookie on the show, too. I think Anna portrays her quite well - sometimes she overdoes it, but really, I recommend rewatching S1 and S2 now that you've read the respective books. So much fun! I just did that. The show is meant for marathons anyway - much more satisfying than one episode a week *g*

Franklin is in the books. Well, there's a vampire named Franklin, but he doesn't have much in common with the Franklin we got to know on the show and he's a very minor character that gets mentioned once in a while.

Yes, Andy... well, in the books we only see him through Sookie's eyes and he's done enough things to piss her off *g*

is he? i must've missed that.. or maybe he hasn't appeared yet? hm.. shrugs*

i'm only in book 3 and own the first 8 books. the last 2 are already on my too buy list though ;)

I JUST REMEBERED: bubba! it's one of the most awesome things about the books! :D

He appears once in book 3, but I'm not sure if his name is actually mentioned. He's Tara's date in Club Dead, an older looking vampire (older as in: turned when he wasn't in his 30s or 40s). He's mentioned a couple of times later on, in book 5, I think.

The show gets more and more different from the books now. In some ways it's good but of course there are a lot of things that book fans miss now :(

Book!Sookie > Show!Sookie all the way!!! It's one part Anna Paquin's acting but it's not her fault alone,she's just written so horribly at times :/
But: she is much better in S3 so far!!!

Franklin is in that book (and with Tara), he's just not as psycho.
